Welcome to my gallery

Welcome to my gallery where you will be able to view some of my paintings past and present.

Typically, the subject of my past works was architecture in the form of models, individual houses and buildings, as well as aerial views.

More recently, the domestic environment is my inspiration. I create colourful compositions of tights, T-shirts and tea towels in close-up detail. I want to highlight the ordinary beauty present in clothes and fabrics when they rest in their own space either folded up, or on a washing line away from the human body.

In my creative journey, I discovered that this ordinary beauty is akin to the concept of Wabi Sabi, the Japanese aesthetic of the worn and neglected. So I have begun to embrace the idea of marks and stains as something to celebrate rather than get rid of or hide away. My painterly prayer flags embody this notion and reference both celebratory bunting as well as laundry lines.

If you would like to buy a piece of my work, find out more about it, or be added to my mailing list, please complete the form on my contact page.
